The app crashes on startup after the latest update. Old review: ________________ The app itself is aesthetically gorgeous, but the slow backed server (it takes literally 10 hours on AT&T 3G) to download the ~400mb database. That is ridiculous, and even AFTER the app downloaded all of the data you STILL have to have a network connection to read them. This app was so incredibly terrible that I literally threw my phone in frustration at their slow server, and at the inability to read LOCALLY STORED ARTICLE without a network connection. DO NOT BUY.

Dear Developer, App installed fine, but crashes within 2 seconds of trying to open it. The only way of knowing whats in the app is by seeing the pictures on here and your description. Fix the problem!!!

As with all apps from Divine Office.org its interface is graphically rich, and well thought out. If your iPad has sufficient memory, you may download its entire content to the device. (However, this can take several hours.) if you dont have the room or just dont want the contentment resident on your device, than you will need to have Internet access. This app is a must for any Catholic who is interested in learning more about the faith. It would also serve the catechist well to have it. Finally anyone who wishes an easy and portable knowledge-base on Catholicism, will find this app extremely useful. I would give it a five had it been easier or quicker to have the entire contents download.

Please fix the problem of this application. This will be a great source of information but frequent crashes prevent us from doing so. Please do it asap.

I have waited a long time for an app like this. It is expansive and yet specific. It provides me with the information needed to understand the depth of the faith Nd yet enjoy its simplicity. I hope more people will join me in growing the faith in These most perilous time.

Tons of information. I got a great tip I read from one of commenters about speeding up your search by selecting a category then search from there. Yes, it has dated material but the Catholic Church never changes its doctrine.

This app has potential but still not worth buying. I did read the bad reviews awhile ago but figured improvements must have been made by now. I was wrong. I will be waiting for the update.....

This could be such a great app but it locks up constantly and is very frustrating! I read the reviews but thought maybe the problems had been fixed....they HAVENT! Wish I could get my money back.

Love the concept. Love the Catholic Encyclopedia. Hate the interface. Looks good, bit access to articles is too slow to be practical. If they can get the indexing right, then app would be awesome.

Very helpful with any kind of research

Its a bit pricey, but its every bit worth it, nonetheless. If youre going to get an encyclopedia of Catholicism, accept no substitutes.
